Today was an exciting day for science as asteroid 2012 DA 14 passed within only 17,000 miles of the earth and Hawaii was a great place to see it from. One photo is of the asteroid taken from Earth. The other photo is of the Earth taken from the asteroid. You won't see these on CNN.

Hi Sharron and Bob- I have to say your vacation is at a much nicer destination. Just arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba to -33 with a bitter wind!No sand here- but lots of snow! get a suntan for me! Lynnie Z
